"Oystercatchers" - North Cove
“Oystercatchers” a traditional kiwi bach with a superb view of North Cove is just 20 minutes away from the mainland at Sandspit. The ferry or water taxi will drop you at the end of our all tide wharf and in just a few minutes you will find yourself enjoying the scenery as you listen to the wood pigeons and tuis in the trees surrounding the bach.
Fish off the wharf or take out a dinghy or kayak in the bay or just sit and enjoy the stillness and serenity from our decks. Sightseeing and fishing charters available from the lodge next door.
Great for one couple but can sleeps 4 in 2 double beds, bring your own linen. Fully self contained with fridge, oven, microwave, BBQ, TV.

Kawau Island Hideaway at South Cove. A cosy wood- burner fire, BBQ and inside or outside dining all makes for a relaxing or romantic stay. Ridge-top modern new home with views of Auckland City, Rangitoto and Whangaparoa. Fish off the rocks or wharf, just a 10 minute walk away. Large deck and golf-cart transport from the wharf. Regular ferry/watertaxi from Sandspit.
Plenty of track walks, Mansion House is 1.5 hrs walk away...swimming, beach walks, bird watching, wallabies, wekas, peacocks,rosellas and even kiwis to see. Lots to explore and discover.... and fish to catch!
A beautifully quiet place. No neighbours to be seen, great outlook, wonderful seaviews...you can almost feel you are the only one on the island...a totally relaxing place to be. Kawau Island is a unique place...if you haven't been before you are in for an experience....one of those very special places left in New Zealand, seemingly undiscovered!

"Pen Angle" - Schoolhouse Bay
For a time of peace away from the bustle of city life. Go to sleep listening to the moreporks, awaken with the tuis.
Easy bush walks, 20 minutes walk to Mansion House Reserve. Fish from the wharf. Wonderful swimming, or just laze and watch the boats go by.

"The Coppercabanas" - Smelting House Cove
The lodge is located just 10 paces from the water's edge. Each self-contained guest unit has a large lounge/dining/kitchen, separate king-size bedroom & bathroom, accommodating up to 4, with both of the 3-seater settees converting to beds. Children over 6 are welcome in the family unit.
Fully self-catering, the well equipped kitchens have everything you need for yourselves and friends who may drop in. For entertainment, each unit has a T.V., video (library of 30 movies available) and a CD stereo. For cooler times of the year, electric blankets, a fire-glow heater and a supplementary fan heater ensure your comfort.
Additional guest facilities include: a separate BBQ for each unit, outdoor dining, two kayaks (& life-jackets), dinghy and laundry facilities.
Just a four minute level stroll to the charming Kawau Island Yacht Club which offers delicious simple bistro meals, a bar and general store.

Fabulous views of the sea. Relax in a hammock set in a tranquil picnic area adjacent to property. Only a 10 minute stroll to public beach. Enjoy the resident Kiwi, Weka and Wallabies and surrounding beautiful bush.
Visit the historic Mansion House of Sir George Grey and enjoy the surroundings from the new fully licenced Mansion House Cafe/Restaurant.

"Joire-de-Vivre" - North Cove
This home is literally in the Pacific Ocean at high tide. Situated on the northern arm, (Moana Cove), of North Cove, Kawau Island. Just half an hour from Sandspit by water taxi.
Moana Cove is very tidal so the jetty, attached to the house, can be used for arrivals and departures approximately one to one and a half hours either side of the high tide. It would be advisable to coordinate the tide and the ferry for arrivals and departures.
Once there, you are virtually in another time and place. There are walking tracks up to the ridge behind the house, then along the ridge to virtually everywhere on the Island.
Just feel and soak up the peace and the quiet, and the sound of the tui's, wood pigeons, wekas, seagulls, and the odd distant call of the kookaburras. Feed the sprats off the balcony at high tide, and watch the stingrays glide up the cove and back with the ebb and flow of the tide.
We also have a brand new 42in plasma screen with Sky TV. Dial up internet access available free of charge.

You'll be met at the wharf and driven to your modern boutique accomodation on sunny Elizabeth Point with panoramic views of Kawau Bay,Casually luxurious, designed to top end standards - the house is fully self contained with all amenities you could wish for.
See wild life, take a 45 minute walk to beautifull Mansion House and the old Copper Mine, swim, fish, dive and relax.
Take a quick water taxi to the mainland and visit the many vineyards on the"Matakana coast wine country"and make the experience a gastronomic treat. We live part time on the property, but your accommodation is a seperate private building sited on the hill behind our house.
Availabe for use are : 4 seater golf cart, double kayak.
Enjoy the beaches with clear safe swimming, snorkling and diving Only 45 min from Auckland to Sandspit and 20 min water taxi ride.Ferry and shuttles run at set times or a taxi can be booked at any time .
